CLAREMONT, Calif. — Pomona-Pitzer men's basketball fell 94-77 at Redlands Saturday night.
Season Impact: The result puts the Sagehens at 6-5 on the season, including 1-2 in SCIAC play.
Charlie Hutchison led Pomona-Pitzer offensively with 18 points and five rebounds, while
Kyle Jasper followed with 15 points.
Bryson Bryker had 12 points and
Matthew Diekmann contributed 10.
Redlands jumped out to a quick start, taking a 16-2 advantage five minutes into the contest before
Connor Fitzgerald hit a three.
Charlie Treene tipped in a
Cooper Bladow miss just before the break but the Bulldogs held a 43-31 lead at halftime.
Pomona-Pitzer used an 8-0 run capped by a Hutchison triple to cut its deficit to eight, 49-41, two-and-a-half minutes into the second period. Another Treene tip-in later made it 59-51. But the Bulldogs used a 9-0 run to go up 17, 68-51. Bryker hit a trey and a pair of free throws to cut the Sagehen deficit to single digits, 64-73, with 7:12 remaining. But that was as close as Pomona-Pitzer would get, as Redlands came away with the 94-77 win.
