CLAREMONT, CA – The Pomona-Pitzer softball team defeated Occidental on a walk-off in the bottom of the seventh thanks to Brooke Bullis, winning 9–8 in a high-stakes SCIAC matchup. With the win, the Sagehens are now in third place in the SCIAC standings..

Game 1:
Kylie Liu, Violet Burnahm, and Summer Gibson led the Sagehen offense in a gritty 5–3 extra-inning win over Occidental. Liu was the star of the day, blasting two home runs including a clutch two-run shot in the top of the eighth to break a 3–3 tie. She finished 2-for-4 with four RBIs and two runs scored. Gibson continued her consistent production, going 2-for-4 with a stolen base and a run scored. Burnham went 1-for-3 and scored one run..
The Sagehens fell behind 1–0 in the first but responded in the third inning. After Carreon was hit by a pitch, Liu stepped in and delivered a towering two-run homer to left to put Pomona-Pitzer ahead 2–1. They added a third run in the sixth after Burnham walked, advanced on a bunt and groundout, and then scored on Carreon's clutch two-out RBI single up the middle.
Occidental battled back in the seventh, tying the game at 3–3 after a pair of singles, a double, and a sacrifice fly. But with the game knotted in the eighth, the Sagehens responded immediately. After a leadoff walk and a sac bunt, Liu came to the plate once more and crushed her second home run of the day, this time to dead center to give the Sagehens the lead and the win.
Game 2:
Every single Sagehen in the batting order notched at least one hit and five Sagehens had a multi-hit game in a dominant 13–5 win over Occidental. The Sagehens totaled 15 hits.
The Sagehens jumped out early with a two-run first inning, sparked by Bella Carreon getting hit by a pitch and Devin Waddell doubling. Kylie Liu reached on an error to bring in the first run, and Emily Hurtado followed with an RBI single. The offense exploded in the second with an eight-run rally fueled by five straight hits, including RBI knocks from Summer Gibson, Carreon, and Marie Milton. Violet Burnham and Morgan Groves added to the damage with RBI doubles.
Brooke Bullis padded the lead with a third-inning homer and the Sagehens mercy-ruled the Tigers in five innings.
