Angie Zhou and
Marissa Markey won their NCAA First Round doubles matchup against a Brandeis doubles pair Saturday at CMS. Zhou and Markey will compete next in the NCAA Quarterfinals tomorrow afternoon.
The Sagehen duo won their first set, 7-5, before falling 6-3 in the second. But Zhou and Markey prevailed in the third, 6-2, to advance to the quarterfinals.
Competing in singles, Zhou won her First Round matchup against Karina Elvestrom of GAC with ease, 6-2, 6-0. Zhou then pushed her Second Round match to three sets, but ultimately fell to Izzy Antanavicius of Emory. She fell 6-1 in the first set before winning 7-5 in the second. Zhou then fell 6-3 in the deciding third set to close her postseason singles run.
