Baseball Concludes Season with NCAA Regionals Finals Loss to McMurry

LA VERNE, Calif. — The Pomona-Pitzer baseball team concluded its 2025 season with a 12-3 loss to McMurry in the final round at NCAA Regionals Sunday.

The NCAA Regionals final round appearance was Pomona-Pitzer's second straight, with the Sagehens advancing to the College World Series for the first time in program history last season. The loss brings the Sagehens' final 2025 record to 32-17, including 16-8 in SCIAC play.

Cooper Berry, Carson Evans and Sammy Lee each tallied RBIs in the loss, with Evans going 2-for-4 from the plate. Jack Wiessinger was credited with the loss from the mound after pitching 2.0 innings with a strikeout.

McMurry scored a pair of runs in the first inning to take a 2-0 lead, then extended its advantage to 9-0 after a seven-run third inning. Berry put the Sagehens on the board in the top of the fourth after doubling to left to send Jack Gold home. Evans then posted an RBI single and Lee hit a sac fly, cutting Pomona-Pitzer's deficit to 9-3.

But it was all War Hawks down the stretch, with McMurry scoring three more in the fifth to go back up nine, 12-3. The Sagehens left runners on base in each of the final four innings but couldn't quite capitalize, as the War Hawks came away with the 12-3 win and Super Regionals berth.
