LOS ANGELES, Calif. — Pomona-Pitzer men's track and field posted a series of top finishes en route to a second-place team finish at the 2025 SCIAC Track & Field Championships.
In total, the Sagehens recorded five individual event wins and one relay victory. Pomona-Pitzer finished with 148 total points, behind first place CMS (202) and ahead of third place Chapman (135).
Cameron Hatler secured the team's first individual event win of the weekend in the 3000m steeplechase. He won the event by nearly five seconds, clocking in at a time of 8:59.54.
Jayan Nitzsche then won the 10,000m with a time of 30:54.58, in his first ever attempt at racing the distance. Teammate
Jack Stein came in second with a 30:57.88. Both Nitzsche and Stein finished over a minute and 20 seconds faster than the third place competitor.
Quinn White continued the strong distance showing with a win in the 1500m, racing a time of 3:48.11. His mark is a new meet record.
Jefferson Wright followed in second with a 3:50.55, the tenth fastest in program history. In the 800m,
Oscar Roering secured the win after clocking a 1:50.63.
John Bard took third with a 1:51.72.
Hatler posted his second event win of the meet in the 5000m after clocking a time of 14:38.17.
Owen Irving came in third with a 14:45.44 and Nitzsche took fifth with a 14:48.74. Additionally, the Sagehens' men's 4x100m relay team earned gold after racing a time of 40.93.
Harrison Brown led the relay followed by
Gavin Doig,
Will Bigler and
Chris Taylor anchoring.
Other notable performances include Doig, who finished third in the 200m with a time of 21.70. His mark is the seventh fastest in program history. Bigler finished fifth individually in the 400m with a time of 49.99.
