Box Score THOUSAND OAKS, CA –The Pomona-Pitzer Women's Tennis team rolled to a 7-0 sweep over Cal Lutheran on Saturday on the road.
Season Impact: With the win, the Sagehens are 10-7 overall and 4-0 in SCIAC play.
In doubles, Angie Zhou and Marissa Markey took care of business at No. 1 with a 6-2 win, while Nyakiriri Kanefu and Amelia Poor matched that scoreline on court two. Leticia Bazua Vazquez and Lauren Rha completed the doubles sweep with a 6-4 victory on court three.
Singles play was all Sagehens. Zhou led the way at No. 1 with a poised 7-6, 6-4 victory. Kanefu continued her strong day with a 6-3, 6-0 win at No. 2, and Markey dominated at No. 3, 6-1, 6-1. Amelia Poor picked up a 6-2, 6-4 win at No. 4, while Sofia Kalyva and Ava Varty closed out the sweep with straight-set wins at No. 5 and No. 6, respectively.
Up Next: The Sagehens will take on sixth street rival CMS on April 26th at 5:00 pm at home. This will be the final match of the regular season for the Sagehens.
