WHITTIER, CA – The Pomona-Pitzer Men's Tennis team had their second SCIAC match and cruised to a commanding 6-1 win over Whittier on Saturday morning at the Whittier Tennis Courts.
Season Impact: With the win, the Sagehens are now 3-3 overall and 2-0 in SCIAC conference play.
Match 1:
The Sagehens set the tone early, sweeping all three doubles matches to secure the doubles point. Neil Chulani and Ethan Lee earned a strong 6-3 victory at No. 1 doubles, while Blake Bothmer and Jayanth Mallampati dominated their match at No. 2, winning 6-2. Kiran Vairavananthan and Andrew Andea completed the sweep with a 6-2 victory at No. 3 doubles. Carrying a 1-0 lead into singles play, the Sagehens continued their victory performance. Andea led the charge with a 6-3, 6-2 win at No. 1 singles, while Luke Feng controlled his match at No. 2, winning 6-2, 6-1. Mallampati and Bothmer added to the Sagehens' tally with straight-set victories at No. 4 and No. 5. Leo Rocca battled at No. 3 singles but fell in the third set after a hard-fought match. Lucas Elkins sealed the sweep for the Sagehens with a 7-6, 6-7, 10-7 win at No. 6 singles.

Season Impact: With the win, the Sagehens are now 4-3 overall.
Match 2:
The match opened with a competitive doubles round, where the Sagehens secured a win at No. 2 doubles as Luke Feng and Sam English dominated their match 6-2. However, Gustavus Adolphus claimed the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 3, taking a 1-0 lead heading into singles play. The Sagehens responded in their singles, with Drew Goldman leading the charge at No. 1, cruising to a 6-2, 6-2 victory. Ethan Lee followed suit at No. 2, securing a solid 6-3, 6-4 win. Andrew Andea added another point for the Sagehens at No. 3 singles with a 7-5, 6-1 victory. Sam English clinched the match for Pomona-Pitzer with a strong performance at No. 5 singles, battling to a 6-1, 7-5 win.
