CLAREMONT, CA – The Pomona-Pitzer Men's Tennis team put on an impressive performance, securing a 5-1 win over Sewanee on Sunday at the Pauley Tennis Complex.
Season Impact: With the win, the Sagehens are now 5-3 overall and 2-0 in SCIAC conference play.
The Sagehens started strong in doubles, clinching the point with victories at No. 2 and No. 3. Ethan Lee and Neil Chulani controlled their match at No. 3 with a decisive 6-2 win, while Luke Feng and Sam English battled through a tight 7-6(4) victory at No. 2.
The Sagehens carried their momentum into singles play. Drew Goldman dominated at No. 1, winning 6-3, 7-6(0), while Ethan Lee followed with a hard-fought 6-1, 5-7, 6-3 victory at No. 2. Andrew Andea delivered another key point with a comeback win at No. 3, taking the match 4-6, 6-2, 7-6(3). Neil Chulani sealed the match for the Sagehens at No. 6, securing a 6-2, 6-3 victory.
