REDLANDS, Calif. — Pomona-Pitzer men's track and field featured a number of strong performances en route to a fourth place team finish at the SCIAC quad meet Saturday.
William Marquart posted a second-place finish in the shot put, throwing for a mark of 14.47m. Marquart also placed fourth in the javelin after tossing 49.76m.
Ryaan Amanat took fifth in the triple jump with a 12.84m while
Erubey Lopez took sixth with a 12.56m.
Cameron Hatler earned the individual win in dominant fashion in the 3000m steeplechase, racing a time of 9:04.49. He won the event by over 13 seconds.
Nate Wehner came in fourth with a 9:39.83. The Sagehens' 4x100m relay team then won their event with a time of 41.31.
In the 100m,
Harrison Brown took second with a wind-aided time of 10.78.
Gavin Doig placed third with a 10.80. Doig also placed second in the 200m, clocking in at 21.89. Brown took fifth with a 22.21.
John Bard earned silver in the 800m with a 1:54.78 while
Jefferson Wright (1:56.03) took fourth and
Frederick Ambrose (1:57.94) fifth.
Jayan Nitzsche won the 5000m with a time of 15:16.56, edging out teammate
Owen Irving who ran a 15:17.40.
Jack Stein finished fourth with a 15:22.40. Pomona-Pitzer finished the day with a third-place mark in the 4x400m relay, with its "A" team racing a 3:22.70.
