Sagehens Split With University Of Chicago And Trinity

Season Impact: With the split, the Sagehens are now 9-5 overall and 2-0 in SCIAC conference play.

Match 1:

The Sagehens fell 3-4 to UC in a tightly contested match that came down to singles play. The Sagehens started strong in doubles, taking two of the three matches to claim the doubles point. At No. 1 doubles, Drew Goldman and Jay Mallampati dominated with a convincing 6-1 victory. At No. 3 doubles, Neil Chulani and Ethan Lee battled to a 7-6 win to secure the point for the Sagehens. However, UC kept the contest close with a 6-4 win at No. 2 over Luke Feng and Sam English.

Despite the early doubles success, UC turned the tide in singles play, winning four of the six matches to take the overall victory. Drew Goldman fought back from a set down to defeat his opponent 2-6, 6-4, 6-3 at No. 1, while Neil Chulani added another singles win for the Sagehens, winning 6-2, 6-3 at No. 6.

Match 2:

The Sagehens secured a 5-2 victory over Trinity, showcasing strong performances in both doubles and singles play. The Sagehens claimed the doubles point by winning two of the three matches. At No. 1 doubles, Drew Goldman and Jay Mallampati won in a tight 7-6 battle. At No. 3, Ethan Lee and Neil Chulani cruised to a 6-2 win.

In singles, the Sagehens dominated with four wins to secure the team victory. Drew Goldman led the way at No. 1 with a commanding 6-2, 6-3 win and Ethan Lee followed at No. 2 with a 6-4, 6-4 victory. Sam English pulled off an impressive comeback at No. 4, rallying from a set down to win 5-7, 6-0, 6-1. Neil Chulani sealed the win at No. 5 with a 6-4, 7-5.  

Trinity picked up points at No. 3 and No. 6 but in the end, the Sagehens won the match 5-2.
