The offensive surge continued in the fourth, starting with a single to center field by Groves. Gibson capitalized on another throwing error from Whitworth and was able to get on base. Jiselle Nguyen followed with a single to the left side that scored in a run. A passed ball set the stage for Carreon to drive in two runs with a triple. A sacrifice fly from Waddell, extended the lead to 7-1. The runs continued in the fifth, when Groves launched a solo home run to left field to push the advantage to 8-1. Whitworth managed to add a run in the sixth but despite their efforts, Whitworth couldn't mount a comeback, as the Sagehens secured the 8-2 win.
