CLAREMONT, Calif. — The Pomona-Pitzer men's track and field team earned a second-place finish at SCIAC 1 Saturday afternoon.
The Sagehens' 4x100m relay team highlighted the meet with a first-place finish, clocking a time of 41.42 which is the second fastest in program history. The squad was built of
Kellen O'Rourke,
Gavin Doig,
Harrison Brown and anchored by
Chris Taylor. Doig also placed second in the 100m with a time of 10.89 and third in the 200m with a 22.07.
John Bard secured the team's first individual win of the day with a first-place finish in the 800m after posting a time of 1:58.04.
Frederick Ambrose took third with a 1:59.94.
Will Bigler placed third in the 400m, racing a time of 49.75.
Cameron Hatler won the 5000m run, posting a time of 15:09.14 and winning the event by nearly eight seconds. In the men's 1500m, the Sagehens placed two runners in the top-three as
Quinn White finished second with a time of 3:57.45. Hatler finished right behind in third with a 4:00.64 while
Jayan Nitzsche took sixth with a 4:03.42. The Sagehens wrapped up the track events with a second-place finish in the 4x400m relay, running a 3:24.12.
In the field events,
William Marquart won the shot put with a personal-best mark of 14.90m, which is the seventh best in program history. Marquart also placed fourth in the discus (38.77m), sixth in the hammer (38.47m) and third in the javelin (48.45m). Ryan Amanat finished third in the triple jump after posting a mark of 12.05m.
