Naik Ties For First, Men’s Golf Takes Third at West Coast Classic

RIVERSIDE, Calif. — Nilay Naik tied for first individually to lead Pomona-Pitzer men's golf to a third place team finish Tuesday at the two-day West Coast Classic. 
 
Naik fired a 70 (-2) Tuesday at Victoria Club in Riverside after carding a 73 (+1) Monday, ending at one-under par and in a three-way tie for first place. The freshman shared first place with Grant Greazel and Kolby Shackelford of Ottawa University. Following Naik was John Kim, who tied for ninth individually with a final score of 147 (+3). 
 
Alexander Oh carded a 79 (+7) Tuesday after posting a 73 (+1) Monday, finishing at eight-over par and tying for 26th individually. Andrew Lim tied for 39th with an 11-over 155 while Max Rockrohr rounded out the Sagehens' top-five finishers, tying for 42nd with a 12-over 156. 
 
As a team, Pomona-Pitzer placed third with a total score of 593 (+17). The Sagehens finished behind first place Ottawa (576, E) and second place Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (588, +12). 
 
Up Next: The Sagehens will next compete at SCIAC I Feb. 22-23 in Oxnard.
