Nine Sagehens Earn All-SCIAC Honors; Sullivan Named Athlete Of The Year

CLAREMONT, CA. – The Pomona-Pitzer Lacrosse team earned nine All-SCIAC honors highlighted by Carly Sullivan who earned SCIAC Defensive Player of the Year as announced by the SCIAC.
 
Sullivan led the conference's best defense, which allowed just 4.2 goals per game for a SCIAC-best goal difference of 187. The Sagehens paced the league in caused turnovers with a whopping 14.8 per contest and ground balls at 27.8 while posting a clear success rate of 87 percent and receiving just 16 green cards and eight yellow cards.
 
The Sagehens also had five other First Team All-SCIAC selections in Chloe Boudreau, Hannah Gough, Shoshi Henderson, Syndey Landauer, and Fiona Lewis.
 
Boudreau assisted Sullivan on the backline for the Sagehens in a defense that was clear above the rest of the league in conference play. Boudreau made 16 starts this season with nine caused turnovers and 13 groundballs in the Sagehen backline.
 
Gough earned First Team All-SCIAC as a midfielder after she made 15 starts and appeared in 16 games. Gough earned 28 points off of 19 goals and nine assists and finished second on the team in ground balls with 26. Gough forced 16 turnovers and won a team-high 54 draw controls.
 
Henderson earned First Team All-SCIAC for the second consecutive year as an attacker. Henderson led the team with 39 assists this season along with 20 goals for a total of 59 points. Henderson also had 13 caused turnovers and a .444 shot percentage.
 
Landauer and Lewis also made their way onto the First Team All-SCIAC team as attackers. Landauer led the team with 63 points this season off of a pretty even 32 goals and 31 assists. She also tallied 21 groundballs with a .485 shot percentage.
 
Lewis led the team and SCIAC in goals with 43 in 13 games. She ended with 50 points with seven assists and a .518 shot percentage.
 
The Sagehens additionally had three Second Team selections with River Buechner, Ruby Loesch, and Grace Warner. Buechner had 28 goals this season off of 66 shots with eight assists for a total of 36 points. She also picked up 25 ground balls and an even 50 draw controls for the Sagehens.
 
Warner was another big offensive threat for the Sagehens this season after she tallied 42 points off of 26 goals and 16 assists.
 
Loesch rounded out the awards for the Sagehens as a goalkeeper. Loesch only let in an average of 5.03 goals per game this season to go along with a .506 save percentage with 83 saves.
