Sagehens Start SCIAC Play With Win Over Tigers

LOS ANGELES, CA. – The Pomona-Pitzer Men's Tennis team snapped their five-match losing streak with a 6-3 win over Occidental on Saturday evening at the McKinnon Family Tennis Center.
 
Season Impact
: with the win, the Sagehens improved to 6-11 on the year and started out with a win in SCIAC play.
 
The Sagehens fell behind after the doubles competition taking just one of the three matches against the Tigers. The Sagehens earned their win at the No. 3 position as Neil Chulani and Ethan Lee came away with an 8-3 victory to take one point into singles play.
 
The Sagehens went on to win five of the six singles matches against Occidental to come away with the win. Matthew Feng took a win at the No. 2 spot by the scores of 6-4, 6-1 while Rohun Krishnan doubled his wins on the day with a 6-2, 7-5 win at the No. 3 match.
 
Sam English earned a quick 6-1 win in set one and battled for a straight-set win with a 7-6 win at the No. 4 singles match.  Ending the match was Chulani and Luke Feng who both earned a victory in singles play with scores of 6-2 and 6-3 to give the Sagehens the win over the Tigers on the road.
 
Up Next: The Sagehens will next head to Chapman on Friday, April 5th at 3:00 p.m.
