CLAREMONT, CA. – The Pomona-Pitzer Men's Tennis team fell to No. 13 Gustavus Adolphus 8-1 on Friday morning at the Pauley Tennis Complex.
Season Impact: with the loss, the Sagehens drop their fifth-straight contest and fall to 5-11 overall.
Pomona-Pitzer started the day by dropping all three of the doubles matches against Gustavus Adolphus.
Eshaan Lumba and
Matthew Feng fell 8-3 at the No. 1 doubles match while the No. 2 and No. 3 matches both went in favor of the Gusties as
Sam English and
Owen Kelley fell 8-4 and
Neil Chulani and
Ethan Lee lost 8-3.
The lone win of the day came at no. 4 singles with
Rohun Krishnan earning a three-set win by the scores of 6-1, 6-7, 10-8.
Three other Sagehens went into a third set but failed to come up with any wins. Lee fell at No. 1 singles 3-6, 6-4, 6-4, English lost at No. 5 singles, 6-3, 5-7, 10-8 and Kelley dropped his singles match at No. 6, 6-0, 5-7, 6-1.
Feng fell at No. 3 singles 6-1, 7-5 and Lumba dropped his match at No. 2 singles, 6-3, 6-4 as the Sagehens opened the day with a loss at home.
