CLAREMONT, CA. – The Pomona-Pitzer Men's Tennis team fell to Williams College 7-2 on Friday afternoon at the Pauley Tennis Complex.
Season Impact: With the loss, the Sagehens fall to 5-10 overall.
The Sagehens did come away with two doubles wins to start the match out with a 2-1 lead heading into singles.
Sam English and
Owen Kelley earned a good win at the No. 2 doubles by the score of 8-4 while
Neil Chulani and
Ethan Lee took a tiebreaker win by the scores of 8-7, 7-1 at No. 3 doubles. Williams got their sole doubles point at the No. 1 position as
Eshaan Lumba and
Matthew Feng fell 8-3.
The Sagehens went on to lose all six of the singles matches but had two matches go into a third set.
Rohun Krishnan was up a set 6-1 before falling 4-6, 1-6 at the No. 4 singles while English went three sets as well at the No. 5 spot but ultimately lost 6-4, 4-6, 4-10.
Lumba fell at the No. 1 spot, 6-2, 6-2, while Lee dropped his singles match at the No. 2 position, 6-3, 6-4.
Feng lost at the No. 3 singles match, 6-3, 6-2 and
John Wehrle ended with a loss at the No. 6 spot, 6-3, 6-1.
