CLAREMONT, CA. – The Pomona-Pitzer Men's Tennis team fell to No. 2 Middlebury 8-1 on Thursday evening at the Pauley Tennis Complex.
Season Impact: With the loss, the Sagehens fall to 5-9 overall.
The Sagehens gave the No. 2 ranked Panthers a good run in doubles play but failed to come away with a win in any of the three matches.
Eshaan Lumba and
Matthew Feng fell 8-2 at the No. 1 position while the Sagehens came up just short in doubles two and three as the teams of Owen Kelly and
Sam English and
Neil Chulani and
Ethan Lee fell 8-6, respectively.
Pomona-Pitzer took a win at one of the six singles matches as Chulani took a three-set win at the No. 6 spot with a 7-5, 4-6, 10-6 victory.
The Sagehens went on to drop the rest of singles play against Middlebury as Pomona-Pitzer suffered its ninth loss of the season.
