CLAREMONT, CA. – The Pomona-Pitzer Men's Tennis team fell to No. 3 Tufts 7-2 on Tuesday evening at the Pauley Tennis Complex.
Season Impact: with the loss, the Sagehens fall to 5-8 overall.
The Sagehens took one of the three doubles matches against Tufts as
Eshaan Lumba and
Matthew Feng continued their excellent doubles play with a tight 8-7 win at the No. 1 position. Tufts went on to take the other two doubles matches with
Owen Kelley and
Sam English falling 8-2 at the No. 2 spot and
Neil Chulani and
John Wehrle losing their match 8-4 at the No. 3 position.
Pomona-Pitzer took one singles match as well as
Rohun Krishnan came away with a 6-3, 6-3 victory at the No. 5 singles spot while Tufts took the other five matches. Lumba fell at the No. 1 singles match, 6-3, 6-2 with Feng dropping his singles match at No. 2, 6-2, 7-5.
English dropped his match at the No. 3 spot 7-6, 6-1 with Kelley falling 6-1, 6-3 at No. 4 and Wehrle losing his match at No. 6, 6-3, 6-3.
