CLAREMONT, CA. – The Pomona-Pitzer Men's Tennis team ended the Stag-Hen Tournament with a 6-1 loss to No. 12 Gustavus Adolphus on Saturday afternoon at the Pauley Tennis Complex.
Season Impact: with the loss, the Sagehens fall to 5-7 overall.
The Sagehens dropped all three doubles matches to start the contest against Gustavus Adolphus but almost stole a win at the No. 1 doubles as
Eshaan Lumba and
Matthew Feng fell in a close match by the score of 7-6.
Sam English and
Owen Kelley fell at the No. 2 position 6-2 while
Neil Chulani and
John Wehrle fell 7-5.
Pomona-Pitzer dropped five of the six singles matches as well but earned a win at the No. 4 spot as
Rohun Krishnan slid up in the lineup and won his match 6-2, 6-4.
The Sagehens had three singles matches go into a third set but failed to earn wins at any of them. Feng fell at the No. 2 spot by the scores of 6-4, 5-7, 10-4 while Kelley lost at No. 3 4-6, 6-1, 7-6 and Wehrle at No. 5 5-7, 6-1, 6-2.
Pomona-Pitzer also fell at No. 6 singles as Chulani lost his singles match 6-0, 7-5 and Lumba at No. 1 singles fell 6-4, 6-1.
