LA VERNE, Calif. — Pomona-Pitzer men's swimming & diving finished ninth out of 12 teams at the Winter Collegiate Swim Invite in La Verne.
Kyle Huang earned the Sagehens' first individual top-three finish of the meet, racing to a second-place finish in the 400-yard IM with a time of 4:02.58.
Diego Hodge placed fifth in the 100-yard butterfly after clocking a time of 49.84.
Henry Cannon also took fifth in the 200-yard freestyle with a finals time of 1:42.76.
Preston Kwon posted the team's first individual event win of the meet, winning the 100-yard breaststroke after speeding to a finals time of 56.35.
Tommy Matheis also won the 3m diving in convincing fashion, earning a score of 322.95 to finish nearly 70 points ahead of the second place competitor. Matheis also placed third in the 1m diving, scoring a 302.45.
The Sagehens' 200-yard medley relay squad finished second overall, racing a time of 1:31.08. The team's 800-yard freestyle relay squad also placed second, swimming a 6:52.79.
