CLAREMONT, CA. — Pomona-Pitzer men's swimming and diving excelled at California Baptist and at home on back-to-back days this weekend.
VS CBU, CIT AT RIVERSIDE, CA.
Tommy Matheis highlighted the meet for the Sagehens by posting an NCAA qualifying score in 3m diving, posting a mark of 318.08. Matheis also won the 1m diving after notching a score of 285.23.
Henry Cannon finished second in the men's 200 yard freestyle after racing a 1:44.97.
Preston Kwon posted a second-place finish in the men's 100 yard breaststroke with a time of 57.72. In the men's 200 yard butterfly,
Kyle Huang placed second with a mark of 1:51.57.
Casey Jacobs also placed second in the men's 50 yard freestyle after clocking a 20.54.
William Walz took silver in the men's 200 yard backstroke with a time of 57.14.
Diego Hodge won the men's 100 yard butterfly, clocking in at 24.00.
Kyle Huang posted a time of 1:27.81 in the men's 200 yard IM to win the event. The Sagehens closed the meet with a team win in the men's 200 yard freestyle relay, posting a time of 1:25.97.
VS CUI AT CLAREMONT, CA.
Casey Jacobs highlighted the men's team's performances at home against Concordia Irvine, setting a new pool record in the men's 50 yard freestyle with a time of 20.48. Tommy Matheis again notched an NCAA qualifying score in the men's 3m diving, scoring a 381.40.
The Sagehens started the meet strong in the men's 200 yard medley relay, winning the event with a time of 1:33.33.
Preston Kwon won the men's 50 yard breaststroke, clocking in at 26.58.
Diego Hodge won the 100 yard backstroke after racing a 52.71. Kwon then won the 100 yard breaststroke with a 57.17.
William Walz placed first in the men's 500 yard freestyle by racing a time of 4:46.89.
