WALLA WALLA, WA. — Pomona-Pitzer men's golf placed second behind a first-place individual finish by
John Kim at the Confluence Classic in Washington.
Kim finished six strokes under par (67-71, 138), with his first-round 67 (-5) proving to be the best individual round score of the tournament. He carded 10 birdies and one eagle at the event, with just six bogeys. As a team, the Sagehens finished four strokes over par, just two strokes behind first-place Whitman.
Nilay Naik tied for ninth place individually after finishing at even-par. He carded a one-over 73 in round one before posting a one-under 71 in the second and final round.
Ben Morehead followed, tying for 23rd place with a seven-over 151.
Max Rockrohr and
Rhen Lee both tied for 28th place, finishing at eight-over 152. Lee carded a three-over in round one and five-over in round two, while Rockrohr finished eight-over in the opening round before going even in round two.
The Sagehens will return to action in the spring, with the Confluence Classic concluding their 2024 fall season slate.
