Sagehens dominate Kingsmen 5-0

CLAREMONT, CA. – The Pomona-Pitzer Men's Soccer team dominated Cal Lutheran Wednesday night, with a final score of 5-0. 

Season Impact: With the win, the Sagehens' record is now 3-6-3 overall and 1-5-2 in SCIAC play.

The Sagehens took control early in the 6th minute, when Keyon Namdar scored off of an assist by Alex Greenstein and Niclas Ulrich. Despite several attacking runs from California Lutheran, the Sagehens' defense held strong. Jasper Broad made multiple crucial saves to keep the lead. In the 12th minute, Broad denied back-to-back shots from Cal Lutheran. Pomona-Pitzer pulled ahead even more with a goal by Sammy Faham, assisted by Keyon Namdar and Kyle Lau. The first half ended with the Sagehens up 2-0.

The Sagehens' momentum continued in the second half scoring three more goals to seal a 5-0 victory. Sammy Faham scored his second goal of the night in the 59th minute assisted by Aidan MacLennan. Minutes later, Keyon Namdar added his second goal as well in the 61st, and Niclas Ulrich capped it off with a goal in the 65th minute.

The Sagehens maintained control, and ended the game with a clean sheet. The Sagehens finished with 16 shots and 9 shots on goal while Cal Lutheran had 21 shots and 11 on goal.
