CLAREMONT, Ca. – The Pomona-Pitzer men's swim and dive team showed well in a midweek double dual against the Colorado College Tigers and the Biola Eagles. The Sagehens defeated both teams, earning a 213-86 win over Biola and a 208-91 over Colorado College. Pomona-Pitzer will be back in action on January 13th when they travel to Redlands at 10:30 a.m.
In The Results
The Sagehens got off to a quick start with a victory in the 200 medley relay to start the day as
Larry Yu, Nate Levy,
Cassidy Liu, and
Adrian Clement combined for a time of 1:33.38.
Joe Dienstag led the way for Pomona-Pitzer in the 1000 free, earning a first place finish after touching the wall in 9:51.73, just .25 ahead of second place. In the 200 free,
Tag Curwen led the charge, taking first in 1:42.72 with
Kyle Huang taking second with a time of 1:45.81. In the 100 back,
Larry Yu earned another win for Pomona-Pitzer, touching the wall in 50.45 seconds, over two seconds faster than second place.
Cassidy Liu took third in the 100 back with a time of 52.82s. The Sagehens saw
Jack Hoppe win the 100 breast, touching the wall in 58.84 seconds with Nate Levy taking second in 59.74s, the only two sub-1 minute times of the day.
Gordon Kenny won the 200 fly with a time of 1:53.31 with
Isaac Pan taking second in 1:54.42. In the 50 free,
Lenny Raybukh took first with a time of 21.82 seconds. In the 100 free,
Adrian Clement led the way with a first place finish, touching the wall in 46.09s with
Eric Liu taking second in 47.67s. In the 200 back,
Joe Dienstag took second with a time of 1:59.80. In the 200 breast, Nate Levy and
Allen Chang took first and second after finishing in 2:11.52 and 2:13.16.
Tag Curwen won the 500 free with a time of 4:47.32. The Sagehens swept the 100 fly with
Larry Yu taking first in 49.40 seconds with
Adrian Clement and
Lan Zhu taking second and third in 50.95s and 52.66s. The Sagehens also swept the 200 IM with
Isaac Pan winning in 1:54.26 with
Cassidy Liu and Nate Levy taking second and third in 1:57.36 and 1:58.12. Pomona-Pitzer capped the day off with a victory in the 200 free relay as
Larry Yu,
Eric Liu,
Jack Hoppe, and
Adrian Clement combined for a time of 1:23.60.
In the 1m dive,
Liam Gilbert-Lawrence and
Liam Hochman took fourth and fifth, scoring 267.25 and 226.15. Gilbert-Lawrence and Hochman took fourth and fifth in the 3m dive with 272.50 points and 225.40 points with
Zheous Abalos taking sixth with a score of 211.70.
