Box Score

CLAREMONT, CA. – Madison Quan set the all-time three-point record for the Sagehens in their 60-58 loss against Cal Lutheran on Saturday night at Voelkel Gymnasium.

Season Impact: With the loss, the Sagehens will end their season with an 8-15 overall record and 6-10 in SCIAC play.

The Sagehens were led by Quan who dropped a game-high 25 points with six assists. Kaitlyn Leung had 11 points while Kellie Au chipped in with 8 and Emily Lee with 7.

The Sagehens also honored their four seniors playing in the final home game of their careers with Charlize Andaya, Kaitlyn Leung, Emily Church, and Madison Quan all receiving recognition before the start of tonight's game.  Quan ended her career breaking three records in her final three games with the points in a single game (41), steals in a single game (10) and career three-pointers (164) passing current Head Coach Alaina Woo for the top spot with her four threes tonight.

Cal Lutheran got out to a good start with a 7-2 lead that was stretched into a 10-4 lead with 4:43 left to play in the first. It took the Sagehens a little time to get the offense going with just eight points in the first quarter but went on a big run to open the second and took a 17-16 lead after a Lee layup.

The lead didn't last long as the Regals came back and reclaimed their advantage midway through the second quarter. The Sagehens kept the deficit within reach and a big Lee three at the end of the first half brought the Sagehens within one possession at 30-27 heading into halftime.

The Regals extended their lead early in the second half, but the Sagehens kept answering back and kept the deficit within arm's reach at 39-37 with 2:27 left in the third. The Sagehens went on to take a 42-41 lead after a Quan three, but Cal Lutheran took the lead back just before the end of the third and kept a 45-44 lead heading into the fourth.

The Regals stayed on top for the entirety of the fourth quarter, but their lead never got to more than four points. The Sagehens continued to hang around and eventually tied the game with a big time three by Au to tie the game at 58-58 with 33 seconds on the clock.  Cal Lutheran went ahead by two with a floater layup that found the bottom of the net and the Sagehens couldn't answer back in their final possession as the Sagehens suffered a heartbreaker of a loss on their senior night.
