The Poets started to chip away at the lead with some good shooting of their own and cut the deficit down to 11 points at 33-22, but the Sagehens continued to hit shot after shot to maintain their advantage and went into the half with a 46-33 lead.

Pomona-Pitzer picked up right where they left off in the first half and quickly got their lead back over 20 points with a Cookson layup to make it 59-36 within the first five minutes of the second half.
