Box Score WHITTIER, CA. – The Pomona-Pitzer Football team bounced back with a 59-0 non-conference win over Whittier College on Saturday night at Memorial Stadium.
Season Impact: With the win, the Sagehens end their non-conference schedule at 3-1 overall.
The Sagehens were led by Skylar Noble who threw for 173 yards on 10-14 with two touchdowns. Clark Baker was 6-8 for two touchdowns as well at the QB position. Dominick Norris led the rushing attack with 47 yards off of nine carries and a score. Ryan Rosumny led the receivers with 61 yards and two touchdowns, Sander Wimmer had 59 yards with a score and Quinten Wimmer had 54 yards and a touchdown as well.
Pomona-Pitzer scored early and often with their first touchdown coming from a 40 yard pass from Noble to Rosumny to cap off a five play, 65 yard drive to make it 7-0. The Sagehens doubled their lead after a two-yard punch in from Noble and then scored their third touchdown of the first quarter with another goal line run from Noble to make it 21-0 heading into the second.
Sander Wimmer got his hands on a Noble touchdown with a nine-yard pass for the first score of the second quarter to end a 74-yard drive for the Sagehens. Baker followed up at quarterback with a 21-yard strike to Rosumny to make it 35-0 while Cameron Shirangi nailed an 18-yard field goal to extend the lead to 38-0 with 8:24 left in the first half.
The Sagehens went on to add one more touchdown before halftime as Baker threw his second touchdown pass of the half with a 23-yarder to Quinten Wimmer to go up 45-0 heading into halftime.
Pomona-Pitzer took its foot off the gas in the second half after they already built a big lead over the Poets, but still managed to score one touchdown in the third from an 11-yard run from Norris to make it 52-0 and then the final touchdown of the night in the fourth from an Ethan Gretzinger one-yard run to end a big offensive day for the Sagehens with the 59-0 victory.
