Box Score LOS ANGELES, CA. – The Pomona-Pitzer Women's Soccer team came away with a 0-0 draw in their first SCIAC contest of the season at Occidental on Saturday night at Jack Kemp Stadium.
Season Impact: with the draw, the Sagehens move to 3-1-1 on the year and start 0-0-1 in SCIAC play.
The Sagehens dominated possession against the Tigers but couldn't get the ball past the Occidental keeper on her home turf. The Sagehens outshot the Tigers 15-8 and registered six corners while Occidental didn't have one. The Occidental goalkeeper had six saves that allowed them to salvage a point against the Sagehens. For Pomona-Pitzer, Naomi Meurice and Taylor Kane split time in goal for the combined shutout, but neither came away with a win in the 0-0 draw.
The Sagehens had a few good looks on offense but lacked a strong finish in the attacking third. Pomona-Pitzer thought it had the game-winner late in the second half, but the Sagehens were called back for a narrow offsides call that kept the game scoreless.
