Pomona-Pitzer will be back in action on Saturday, Oct. 8 when they host Claremont-Mudd-Scripps for the Sixth Street Rivalry at 11:30 a.m.

The Sagehens wasted no time pressuring the Chapman goalkeeper as Charlotte Tapp took the first shot attempt on frame 58 seconds into the contest. Hannah Hong followed in pursuit with a shot in the 3rd minute and made another attempt on goal in the 6th minute with the Panthers making another early save. Chapman briefly countered with a shot straight in the center, but Naomi Meurice made the save in the 7th minute. Just over two minutes later, Hannah Hong got the ball from Amanda Khu and delivered, striking the back of the net to put the Sagehens up 1-0 in the 9th minute.

From there, the two teams traded shots for nearly 20 minutes with the Sagehens holding a slight 3-2 edge in shots before Charlotte Tapp connected in the 30th minute to double the Pomona-Pitzer lead to 2-0. The Panthers outshot the Sagehens 5-2 in the remaining 15 minutes of the half with their fifth shot finding the back of the goal with 36 seconds left on the clock, cutting the Sagehen lead to 2-1.

The Sagehens took the first five shots of the second half with Eliana Prosnitz putting one on goal to the bottom right, but the Chapman goalkeeper was there to make the save. Following the flurry of shots from the Sagehens, Chapman scored the equalizer in the 69th minute, knotting the game at 2-2 with just over 20 minutes on the clock.

Pomona-Pitzer quickly countered as Taylor Venenciano sent a ball down the left side to Kelsey Shintaku. Shintaku fought off her defender, giving her a one-on-one opportunity with the keeper. Shintaku was able to drive forward, get the ball on her left foot and rip it past the goalkeeper to the right side, scoring the go-ahead goal in the 77th minute. The Sagehens defense held the Chapman Panthers to zero shots in the final minutes, securing the 3-2 road victory over the Panthers.
