CLAREMONT, Ca. – The Pomona-Pitzer volleyball wrapped up the regular season with a 3-1 (25-17, 20-25, 25-19, 25-17) victory over Caltech while celebrating senior day. The Sagehens attack was led by the trio of Chloe Gill (18k), Paige Wilson (15k) and Grace Fan (10k), with Fan hitting at a team high .348 hitting percentage. Fan also had a stellar night at the net with five solo blocks while assisting on three. In addition to Wilson's 15 kills, she recorded a team high 16 digs while Lauren Asato (15), Savanna Cespedes (13), and Hanna Chen (12) all recorded double-digit digs as well. Pomona-Pitzer will travel to Cal Lutheran on Nov. 3 for the SCIAC Semifinal.

The Sagehens jumped out to an early 5-2 lead after Grace Fan kickstarted the run with a solo block to start the game. She earned the second point of the match with a kill which was followed by three-straight Chloe Gill kills. The Beavers began to battle back, pulling within one point at 7-6 but the Sagehens went on a 13-5 run to take the lead at 20-11. Caltech continued their run out of the break, outscoring Pomona-Pitzer 6-3 to take an 18-11 lead and force another Sagehens timeout. The Sagehens made a late push as their home crowd cheered them on, going on a 6-1 run to cut the lead to 20-17 and force a Caltech timeout. Out of the break, the Beavers were able to win the set 25-20 after a 5-3 run down the stretch. The Beavers are just the second team to take a set against the Sagehens in their seven home games in Voelkel Gymnasium.

The Sagehens quickly regrouped for set three as they took an early 5-2 lead, again, before extending their lead to 10-6 with kills from Fan, Tene Ariyo, a block from Fan and Chloe Gill and a Paige Wilson ace. Caltech continued to attack as they took a 19-17 lead with a 4-2 run, but Pomona-Pitzer stormed to a 25-19 victory with eight unanswered points as Ariyo and Gill delivered the kills while Paige Wilson recorded two service aces.

The Beavers took the upper hand early in set four as they took a 3-0 lead before battling to a 9-7 advantage over Pomona-Pitzer. The Sagehens quickly tied the set at 9-9 but the Beavers continued to pressure as they regained the lead at 11-9. From there, the Sagehens went on an 8-2 run to force a Caltech timeout and take the lead at 17-13.
