Box Score ORANGE, CA. – The Pomona-Pitzer Men's Soccer team dropped their road contest to Chapman 3-1 on Wednesday night at Wilson Field.
Season Impact: With the loss, the Sagehens fall to 5-6 overall and 4-4 in SCIAC play.
The Sagehens were led by their lone goal scorer Nicholas Mikhail who netted a goal in the loss.
Pomona-Pitzer had a tough start to the match after the Panthers jumped out to an immediate lead in the third minute that forced the Sagehens to play from behind in the first half.
The two teams went into halftime with Chapman up 1-0 after the early first-half goal and much like their first score of the day, Chapman netted their second goal within the first two minutes of the second half to double their lead at 2-0 in the 47th minute.
Pomona-Pitzer was able to cut the lead down to one goal after Mikhail rebounded a ball off of a corner and kicked it past the keeper to make it 2-1 in the 67th minute. The Sagehens searched for an equalizer in the final 23 minutes, but Chapman was able to add one more goal in the 72nd minute off of a corner to put the game out of reach and hand the Sagehens their fourth SCIAC loss of the season.
