Sagehens Fall On The Road To Chapman, 1-0

ORANGE, CA. – The Pomona-Pitzer Men's Soccer team fell on the road to Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Chapman 1-0 on Saturday afternoon at Wilson Field.

With the loss, the Sagehens fall to 5-4-1 overall and 3-3-1 in SCIAC play.

Another physical game between the Sagehens and Panthers in game that saw 28 total fouls, six yellow cards and a red card by Chapman in the 80th minute. The Sagehens fired off five shots in each half but were outshot in the game 12-10 by the Panthers, and Chapman was on the receiving end of four corners to the Sagehens' three.

Neither team had many scoring opportunities in the first half with the Sagehens having one shot on goal and the Panthers only getting three, but the Panthers would get the only goal of the game in the second half after a lob over the defense created a one-on-one opportunity that was cashed in by Chapman as they took a 1-0 lead in the 50th minute.

The Sagehens searched for an equalizer throughout the second half but couldn't crack the Panthers' defense.  The Sagehens had a big chance in the last 10 minutes of the match after a second yellow put Chapman down a man in the 80th minute. 

The Panthers packed the box with 10 men and wouldn't let the Sagehens get any easy chances as they ran out the clock and handed the Sagehens a 1-0 loss on the road.
