Box Score REDLANDS, CA. – The Pomona-Pitzer Men's Soccer team fell to SCIAC opponent Redlands 1-0 on Wednesday night at Farquhar Field.
With the loss, the Sagehens fall to 7-7-1 overall and 5-5-1 in SCIAC play.
The Sagehens fell to the Bulldogs by one goal for the second time this season after suffering a 4-3 loss at home earlier in the season. While the first contest between these two teams saw seven combined goals, scoring was at a premium in tonight's match. The Sagehens outshot the Bulldogs 4-3 in the first half with Redlands holding the advantage on corner kicks 5-0 but both teams were held scoreless at the break.
Redlands outshot the Sagehens 10-6 in the second half and scored their game-winning goal in the 62nd minute after a cross in the box found the head of the Redlands attacker and the Bulldogs cashed in on the scoring opportunity to take a 1-0 lead.
The Sagehens had five shots on goal in the second half but could not find the equalizer as Pomona-Pitzer fell on the road in a close one to Redlands.
