Pomona-Pitzer struck first in the Battle For The Drum after Odermann punched in a two-yard touchdown run to give the Sagehens a 7-0 lead. The Sagehens doubled up their lead after a botched snap on a punt led to the Sagehens getting the ball on the one-yard line and Norris ran in a touchdown to take a 14-0 lead. One more score in the first for Pomona-Pitzer after Odermann connected with Hunter on a 24-yard strike to put the Sagehens up comfortably 21-0 after the first quarter.

The Sagehens ended the half with two more scores after Odermann and Norris each notched their second rushing scores of the game to extend the lead to 35-7 at halftime.

The Tigers opened up the third with another long scoring drive and after 13 plays, ran in a two-yard touchdown for the score to cut into the Sagehens' lead at 35-14.  It was all Sagehens after that point as Pomona-Pitzer responded with a 26-yard interception returned for a touchdown by Morikawa and a 23-yard touchdown pass to Hunter to close out the third quarter up 49-14.

Pomona-Pitzer added two more scores in the fourth as backup quarterback Evan Flitz got a chance to throw the football. Flitz connected for two touchdown passes in the fourth. The first to senior Ian Pederson for a 33-yard score and the final touchdown of the night to sophomore Blake Augustine for five yards to cap off a 63-14 victory in the Battle For The Drum.
