Box Score CLAREMONT, CA. – The Pomona-Pitzer Men's Soccer team fell to Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) opponent Caltech 2-0 on Wednesday afternoon at the Pomona-Pitzer Soccer field.
Season Impact: with the loss, the Sagehens fall to 3-8-2 overall and 2-5-1 in conference play.
The Beavers outshot the Sagehens 11-9 for the game while each team had eight shots on goal. The Sagehens controlled the majority of possession in the first half and had multiple scoring chances to get on the board, but the Beavers' defense stayed strong with five saves in the first half from the keeper to keep the Sagehens off of the board.
Caltech broke through for the first goal of the game in the 41st minute after a chest pass outside the box fell to Kevin Yu who slotted it past the keeper to give the Beavers a 1-0 lead at halftime.
