Box Score CLAREMONT, CA. -- The Pomona-Pitzer Women's Basketball team fell to Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) opponent Redlands 75-48 on Tuesday night at Voelkel Gymnasium.
Season Impact: With the loss, the Sagehens drop to 1-23 on the year and 1- 15 in SCIAC play while the Bulldogs improve to 14-11 overall and 11-5 in conference play this season.
Before the game, the Sagehens honored its two seniors in Kacie Hitomi and Alaina Woo who played in their last collegiate basketball game of their careers.
The Sagehens were led by their seniors Woo and Hitomi who each had a team-high 14 points in the loss.
The Bulldogs were led by Reyna Ta'amu who tallied a game-high 21 points and six rebounds. Jade Cheldelin had 14 points to go with a game-high 17 rebounds.
The Sagehens played a tough first quarter as they began the game on top as they jumped out to a 10-7 lead after a Keilani Ikehara three pointer with 3:02 left in the quarter.
Redlands bounced back and ended the quarter on 8-2 run to take a 16-12 lead heading into the second.
The Bulldogs had a big defensive second quarter as they held the Sagehens to just seven points as they extended their lead to 33-19 heading into the half.
Pomona-Pitzer had their best offensive quarter of the game in the third as they put up 18 points and shot 47% from the field. The Sagehens cut the lead down to 51-37 with 1:01 left in the third.
Redlands turned the offense back on in the fourth as they doubled the Sagehens total with 22 points in the quarter as the Sagehens fell to the Bulldogs on Senior Day,
This game marks the last game of the year for the Sagehens as they will not qualify for the SCIAC Tournament.
