Box Score ORANGE, Calif. – The Pomona-Pitzer Women's Soccer team got back to their winning ways after a 2-0 win at Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) opponent Chapman on Wednesday afternoon.
The Sagehens have tied in their previous two outings with a 0-0 tie against Whittier at home and a 1-1 tie on the road at Cal Lutheran. With this win, Pomona-Pitzer improves to 5-1-2 overall, 3-0-2 in SCIAC play and Chapman moves to 4-4-1 overall, 1-3-1 in conference play this season.
Pomona-Pitzer jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the 14th minute of the match as senior Danika Bethune found the back of the net off of a pass that split two Chapman defenders from junior Abby Onderwyzer Gold.
The Sagehens added one more goal before halftime as sophomore Peri Cuppens scored off of a pass from senior Agueda Dudley-Berrios to push their lead to 2-0 in the 43rd minute.
Chapman's offense was held quiet by the Pomona-Pitzer defense as the Sagehens registered their fourth shutout of the season.
Freshman goalkeeper Isa Berardo improved to 3-0-1 on the season as she tallied three saves in the win.
