Box Score THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. – The No. 24 ranked Pomona-Pitzer Women's soccer team tied on the road against Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) opponent Cal Lutheran 1-1 on Saturday night.
The Sagehens move to 4-1-2 overall and 2-0-2 in conference play while Cal Lutheran goes to 6-1-1 overall and 2-1-1 in the SCIAC.
Pomona-Pitzer tied for the second-straight SCIAC match as they are coming off of a 0-0 tie against Whittier on Wednesday.
The Sagehens jumped out to a 1-0 lead as senior Alyssa Kim broke through the Regals' defense and found the left corner of the net to give Pomona-Pitzer the lead.
The Regals scored an equalizer in the final minute of the first half as Rachel Schroeder chipped a shot into the top of the net as Cal Lutheran tied the game up at 1-1 going into halftime.
Pomona-Pitzer goal keeper senior Corey Goelz came up with some big saves early in the second half to stop some good scoring opportunities for the Regals' offense.
The offenses took plenty of shots in the second half but neither team could take the lead as the Sagehens took nine shots and Cal Lutheran fired off 10.
Pomona-Pitzer controlled the overtime period and outshot the Regals 7-1 but Cal Lutheran was able to hold off the late surge from the Sagehens and came away with a tie.
