Box Score CLAREMONT, Calif. – The Pomona-Pitzer Women's Basketball team fell to Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) rival Claremont-Mudd-Scripps 75-32 on Wednesday night at Roberts Pavilion.
The Sagehens were led by senior Alaina Woo who had a team-high 12 points and eight rebounds in the loss.
The Athenas were led by Aly Young who came off the bench and led the team with a game-high 14 points in the win.
CMS got ahead of the Sagehens early as they jumped out to a 15-2 run straight out of the gate. The Sagehens battled back in the second quarter as they were only outscored 20-14 but still trailed the Athenas 35-16 heading into halftime.
Pomona-Pitzer held its own with the Athenas in the third quarter as they were only outscored 16-13 but a big fourth quarter by CMS extended the lead and handed the Sagehens its first SCIAC loss of the season.
Up Next: The Sagehens will next head to UC Santa Cruz as they will face Southern Oregon on Saturday, December 3rd at 4:00 p.m. at UC Santa Cruz and then will play the Banana Slugs on Sunday, December 4th at 4:00 p.m.
