Men's Water Polo: No. 15 Sagehens Defeat Cal Lutheran 10-5

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. – The No. 15 Pomona-Pitzer Men's Water Polo team extended their winning streak to nine-straight games with its 10-5 win over Cal Lutheran on Wednesday night.

 The Sagehens improve to 17-7 overall and a perfect 6-0 in conference play.

Pomona-Pitzer was led by senior Tommy Turner and freshman Riley Mangan who each had two goals in the win.

The Sagehens jumped out to an early 2-0 lead after the first quarter as senior Timmy Hardman and Turner both found the back of the net.

Each team scored one goal in the second as Mangan scored his first goal of the game as Pomona-Pitzer held a 3-1 lead at halftime.

The Sagehens pulled away as they outscored the Kingsmen 5-1 in the third to take a commanding 8-2 lead heading into the fourth.

Cal Lutheran began to show signs of life in the fourth quarter as they cut the lead down to 9-4 with 3:48 left but the Sagehens were able to hang on to remain on top of the SCIAC.

Up Next: The Sagehens next hit the pool as they travel to Fresno to take on UC Santa Barbara at 1:00 p.m. and Fresno Pacific at 4:00 p.m.
