Box Score LOS ANGELES, Calif. – The Pomona-Pitzer Women's Soccer team came away with a 1-0 win over Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) opponent Occidental on Wednesday night.
Senior Nadia Alaiyan scored the lone goal of the match for the Sagehens in the 41st minute off of a corner kick by senior Katie Tao to lift the Sagehens over the Tigers.
Senior Corey Goelz posted another shutout for the Sagehens as she tallied five saves and notched her fourth-straight shutout of the season.
Pomona-Pitzer moves to 9-1-2 overall and improves to 7-0-2 in conference play while the Tigers drop to 7-4-1 overall and 4-4-1 in SCIAC play.
The Pomona-Pitzer defense has shined all season as they have only allowed one goal in their previous eight matches and only have been scored on in three out of the Sagehens' 12 games this season.
During Pomona-Pitzer's current five-game win streak, the offense has outscored their opponents 13-0.
