CLAREMONT, Calif. – Isabell Kelly had ten kills and the Sagehens came within three points in the third set. 

But the Pomona-Pitzer Volleyball team could not get any closer, falling to the Leopards in three sets.

Season Impact: The Sagehens fall to 7-7 overall and 3-3 in the SCIAC.

La Verne improves to 11-4 overall and 5-2 in SCIAC play.

Set Scores: 25-13, 25-17, 25-19

Stephanie Sun followed a .400 hitting performance from last night's game against Occidental with a .412 performance against the Leopards. Sun recorded four of her nine kills in the third set, including a kill off a Natalie Martin assist to cut La Verne's lead to 21-18.

Martin finished the game with two assists and led Pomona-Pitzer with nine digs.

Kelly hit .368 in the match.

Setters Jessica Finn and Jackie Roland combined for 33 kills in the match. 

Julia Zwaal finished the game with six kills and two service aces and Kate Porter added four kills of her own. 

Christine Covode hit .400 in the match, converting three of her five attacks.

Next Match: The Sagehens travel to Thousand Oaks next Tuesday to face defending NCAA Champions Cal Lutheran. The Regals are coming off a 3-1 loss to La Verne. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
