La Verne, Calif. - Pomona-Pitzer outscored Cal Lutheran, 4-0, in the fourth quarter to win, 13-8, in the Fifth Place Game at the SCIAC Tourney Sunday at Las Flores Park. The Sagehens finish the season with an overall record of 13-16 and a SCIAC record of 5-6.
Pomona-Pitzer led, 4-3, after one period, and also held a slim one goal lead at halftime, 7-6. Each team tallied two goals in the third period before Pomona-Pitzer went on a four-goal fourth quarter scoring rampage while blanking CLU defensively.
Phillip Clayman (pictured) scored five goals to lead Pomona-Pitzer, while Adam Ward and Nic Lanker each scored three. Mark Hallman and Timmy Hardman each added one. In goal, Daniel Diemer saved five shots.
