Claremont, Calif. - Southwestern (TX), ranked #14 in the nation, defeated Pomona-Pitzer's women's volleyball team, 3-0, in a nonconference home match in Voelkel Gym Saturday night. Set scores were 25-16, 25-12 and 25-8.

Pomona-Pitzer falls to 9-11 overall with the loss, while Southwestern moves to 23-2. The visiting Pirates, who are on a 9-match win streak, roared through four road matches in two days, defeating #10 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps and Chapman Friday, and Occidental and Pomona-Pitzer Saturday. 

Southwestern limited Pomona-Pitzer to 19 kills over three sets, with Stephanie Sun leading the Sagehens with five. Michelle Schultz (pictured) had a team-high 19 digs. 

Southwestern's Kate Mitchell led both teams with 12 kills (plus a .476 Kill Percentage). Southwestern hit .340 as a team. 

Pomona-Pitzer hosts Redlands Tuesday at home at 7:30pm.
