Box Score

Claremont, Calif. - A CMS goal in the 86th minute gave the visiting Athenas a win over the SCIAC-leading Pomona-Pitzer women's soccer squad Wednesday at home.

The loss broke a six-game winning streak for the Sagehens, but Pomona-Pitzer remains atop the SCIAC standings, just ahead of CMS. The Sagehens are 8-5 overall and 6-3 in SCIAC, while CMS climbs to 8-4-3 overall and 5-2-2 in SCIAC.

The Saghens outshot the Athenas, 18-8, but couldn't capitalize on numerous scoring opportunities in both halves. Natasha Thornton-Clark (pictured) tallied four shots, while Nadia Alaiyan, Abby Onderwyzer Gold, and Alyssa Kim had three each.

Pomona-Pitzer travels to Redlands Saturday for a 7:00pm evening contest. The Bulldogs are 4-3-1 in SCIAC (3rd place).
