Box Score 2 La Verne, Calif. - The Pomona-Pitzer Volleyball team fell in a pair of 3-0 decisions to La Verne and Colorado College on Saturday in a tri-match held at La Verne's Sports Pavilion.
With the losses, the Sagehens fall to 6-4 on the season and 0-1 in league play, while La Verne moves to 5-1 overall and 1-0 in the SCIAC and Colorado College (ranked No. 6 in the nation) improves to 9-1. Set scores were 25-19, 25-19, 25-21 against Colorado College and 25-19, 25-21, 25-19 against La Verne.
Senior Allie Frappier led the Sagehens in kills in both matches, tallying 15 against La Verne and 10 against Colorado College, while also leading with 19 digs against La Verne. Junior libero Michelle Schultz (pictured) led with 25 digs against Colorado College.
The Leopards had 17 kills from Brittany Yaxley and 16 from Kelsi Robinson to earn the sweep. Colorado College was led by Abbe Holtze with 15 kills, including one to start a 4-0 run to end the third set and clinch the match after the teams were tied at 21-21.
Pomona-Pitzer will be back in action on Friday when it hosts La Verne in another SCIAC match.
