Second Half Surge Pushes CMS Past Pomona-Pitzer

Claremont, Calif. - Kris Brackman had 14 points on 4-4 shooting from three as the CMS Women's Basketball team earned a 63-48 win over Pomona-Pitzer on Saturday.

Jenn Okonkwo had a game-high 19 points for Pomona-Pitzer on 3-5 shooting from the floor and 13-17 shooting from the line. Amelia Hummel (pictured) added 11 points on 5-7 shooting for the Sagehens.

CMS improves to 18-3 overall with the win and stays in first place in the SCIAC at 10-2. Pomona-Pitzer falls to 7-13 overall and 5-8 in the league with the loss.

Pomona-Pitzer started the second half on a 9-2 run to trim a 28-17 halftime deficit down to 30-26, but Madeline Barnes and Brackman hit back to back threes to stretch it to 10.

The Sagehens will be back in action on Monday against Hope International.
