Orange, Calif. - Senior goalie Tyler Hill had 15 saves in his final college match, and seniors Ryan Higgins, Jarrod Gaut and Dylan O'Connell scored goals, but Pomona-Pitzer fell 10-6 to Redlands in the third-place match on Sunday.
The loss ends the season for Pomona-Pitzer at 10-23, including 6-5 against SCIAC opponents.
A goal from Gaut with just one second left in the second quarter tied the score 4-4 going into intermission, and a goal from junior Kyle Vanderlinde tied it up 5-5 early in the third quarter, but Redlands went on a 3-0 run to take control. Higgins scored to make it 8-6 with 3:26 left in the third quarter, but the Sagehens would be unable to find the net again against Redlands goalie Tyler Abbott (eight saves).
Junior Stephen Vint and sophomore Phillip Clayman added goals for the Sagehens, while Quinn Curl led all scorers with four for Redlands.
