Box Score

Thousand Oaks, Calif. - The Cal Lutheran Men's Soccer team received a goal from Alex Wardle with 11 seconds left in regulation to escape with a 1-1 tie with Pomona-Pitzer on Saturday evening.

Cal Lutheran moves to 7-2-2 overall and 5-1-2 in the SCIAC, while Pomona-Pitzer moves to 3-8-1 and 2-5-1 in league play with its first draw of the season.

Freshman midfielder Jk Gopakumar scored for Pomona-Pitzer in the 39th minute to give the Sagehens a 1-0 lead, which almost lasted until the final whistle. A loose ball in the box, resulted in junior midfielder Nathan Shekita earning possession and finding Gopakumar in front of the net for his second goal of the year.
